When we signed up for a week at Club La Santa in Lanzarote, we expected intense training, sun-soaked pools, and a few sore muscles. What we didn’t anticipate was just how much this trip would challenge and inspire us.
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was electric—athletes of all levels pushing their limits, coaches fine-tuning techniques, and an endless array of training opportunities. Mornings started with pool sessions under the guidance of seasoned instructors, focusing on endurance, stroke efficiency, and those small refinements that make all the difference in competition. The 50m Olympic-sized pool quickly became our second home.
Beyond the structured workouts, the camp encouraged us to explore open-water swimming along Lanzarote’s stunning coastline. It was exhilarating—learning to navigate the waves, adjusting to the salty water, and experiencing the pure thrill of swimming in the ocean.
But it wasn’t all about technique and fitness. The evenings brought a different kind of learning—exchanging stories with fellow swimmers, unwinding with group dinners, and embracing the community that makes competitive swimming so rewarding.
Leaving La Santa, we felt stronger, more confident, and energized for the season ahead. The camp reinforced why we love this sport—not just for the competition, but for the friendships, challenges, and unforgettable moments in the water. Would we go back? Without a doubt.
